What do I wear?

You should ensure you are wearing clothes that will not restrict your movement and maybe a layer to keep you warm for the relaxation such as socks and a jumper.

Some people wear baggy, loose fitting bottoms and a t shirt. Other people wear tight, stretchy leggings and tops. The only thing that matters is that you wear comfortable clothes that you can easily move and stretch in.

Do I need to be experienced in yoga and/or pilates?

No. Day Retreats London caters for students of all abilities, from beginner

through to experienced practitioner.

Am I able to take part if I have a medical condition or injury?

Leyla and Erika are experienced teachers who are able to offer modifications

advisable to consult with a doctor before taking part in any exercise for the

first time or if you have any pre existing injuries.

Yes. If you're inflexible then you are the perfect candidate for yoga and pilates. Yoga enhances flexibility; it's not a prerequisite and pilates builds flexibility and strength. So if you've got tight shoulders, back, hamstrings, hips, quads or more or less...yoga and pilates will help to lengthen and strengthen you.

Where can I leave my stuff?

We have a safe holding area for all of your stuff during Day Retreats London.

How do I pay?

You need to book a place online before and event through the biletto website.

When should I arrive?
10 min before the Day Retreat event is due to commence so you can settle in with ease.

Can pregnant women take part?

Yes, Erika and Leyla have both trained in yoga for pregnancy. But please drop us an email in advance if you are pregnant so we can tailor the class suitably for you.

Is Day Retreats open to both men and women of all ages?

Yes, anyone can take part. Just bring a positive attitude and enjoy the warm

and friendly atmosphere.

Is it physical or will I be sitting around for ages?

Day Retreats London mix yoga and pilates which tend to move more than the meditation, restorative or yin sessions, so there will be a  mix of high energy flow and more inward stiller contemplative periods.

What is Vinyasa flow yoga?

Vinyasa yoga is where movement is synchronized with the breath. Vinyasa flow yoga creates a smooth journey between poses so that they run together like a dance. The breath acts as an anchor to the movement as you flow from one pose to the next.

What is Yin yoga?

Yin yoga can give us the space to slow down and stay with our experiences rather than always rushing. In a Yin yoga practice all the postures are held for long periods of time. Within these long holds there is an encouragement of cultivating softness and relaxing muscular tissue. Through Yin yoga the mind can be given more space to find ease and acceptances as it allows itself to slow down, resulting in a deeper sense of balance and calm.

What is Restorative yoga?

Restorative yoga helps us to learn to relax and rest deeply and completely. Through various postures with the help of props for additional comfort Restorative yoga helps us to fully release and allow the body to relax and restore.
